Working hand in hand to hold a workshop that is designed to recognize the need to continually improve teaching, learning and caring for students, the Council of Deans for Health Related Courses in Region 9 held a Teaching-Learning Process and Team Building Seminar last May 12 to 13 at the Mibang Hotel in Dipolog City.

The training is focused on the reassessment of the teaching-learning process and classroom resources of various schools with medical courses all over region 9.

The seminar also featured a team-building for participating deans to enforce solidarity in working together to train and educate competent and caring health care professionals in their respective schools.

Facilitating the two-day activity was Council of Deans president, Dr. Milabel Ho with Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 9 director, Dr. Emmylou Yanga giving the participants a short inspirational message. Also present to give CHED Memo updates was CHED Education Supervisor II Vivian Rubares.

The host schools include DMC, Andres Bonifacio College, Dipolog City Institute of Technology and the Jose Rizal Memorial State University.

On the second day, the visitors were toured to Gloria de Dapitan and to the DMC College Foundation campus.

“I’m very proud to say that after their visit here in DMC, all the deans from region 9 said that they were impressed with our facilities in the school,” DMC BSN Dean Gurdiel said. “It is very satisfying to have your peers from various schools voice their appreciation and high regard for DMC.”
